OCE Postdoctoral Fellow - Insights into Alzheimer’s disease: tomographic metals mapping

CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering / Preventative Health Flagship, in collaboration with Australian Syncrontron is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow who will take responsibility for the physical and biophysical aspects of the development of advanced XTF imaging techniques, investigate and address the self-absorption problem as it applies to biological systems, develop analytical frameworks and analysis pipeline and apply these developments to specimens. Your research will contribute to the development of advanced imaging techniques resulting in quantitative elemental mapping in 3D and will be vital in the direct confirmation of the modulation of metal deposition by drug compounds developed by CSIRO to alter the folding pathways of Aβ and metal binding. You will have access to world class facilities and equipment that has transformed synchrotron trace element imaging.
